Executive Synopsis: In an alternate early-20th-century Kyoto where progress took a different path, the city lives under a permanent haze of steam and smoke, its dream of an "Age of Electricity" long abandoned. Kihachi Sakamoto has grown distrustful of that dream ever since it was cut short by his brother's death, while Inako Momokawa quietly carries the grief of losing her mother behind a life of devotion. When a mysterious old electrical catalog resurfaces, drawing the two together, they set out to uncover what it holds — and along the way, begin to rediscover a future they'd both once given up on.
Sparks of Tomorrow is Kyoto Animation's first major original TV series since the studio's tragic 2019 fire, based on Hiro Yuki's light novel "20 Seiki Denki Mokuroku." Directed by Minoru Ota, the series streams exclusively on Netflix worldwide, releasing new episodes the same day as its Japanese broadcast. Known for emotionally driven works like Violet Evergarden and A Silent Voice, KyoAni brings that same attention to character and atmosphere to this steampunk reimagining of early-1900s Kyoto.
- •A Distinctive Steampunk World: An alternate Kyoto shaped by steam instead of electricity, rendered with KyoAni's signature visual craftsmanship.
- •Grief and Quiet Hope: Both leads carry real loss, and the story leans into that emotional weight rather than around it.
- •A Complete Season: All 13 Hindi-dubbed episodes are now available to stream and download in full HD.
